As many people who have met us know, we are a family who loves food. My other, now latent blog – The Patient Cook – is a testament to this. Our dream is to pass our love of slower food onto Jake, so we get him involved as often as possible in the kitchen. So far we have pictures of him helping with fresh pasta, preparing a tomato-based sauce for paella, baking cookies and preparing pizza.
He also helps to crack the eggs and soak the bread for french toast, sauté any onions lying around, mix up a batch of yoghurt and he is slowly learning how to mix and fold sourdough.
Essentially, I am somewhat convinced he is going to rebel when he has grown up and end up loving sprinkles on very white bread and cocoa pops for breakfast.
