STOP THE TRAINS [There’s snow in Tokyo]

In 2018 we were lucky enough to finally have some snow stick in Toyko! There are regularly occasional flurries, but the snow only lays it on this thick every five years or so (based on a straw poll of around five residents of Japan).

Andrew and I were lucky enough to take advantage of our flexible working conditions and duck out to explore before the vista was too muddy! So we packed our hot chocolate into a bag and slipped into our snow gear which was luckily close at hand!

Needless to say, the delight of the snow spelt calamity for the public transport system and many trains were stopped later in the day, so many workers received an early mark to ensure they made it home in a timely fashion!
